What happens in my free therapy intro calls?

If you are looking for a CBT therapist or EMDR therapy, I offer a free introductory call lasting around 15–20 minutes. This call gives you the chance to decide whether working with me feels right before committing to therapy sessions.

Intro calls are available by telephone or video call.

Why book a free intro call with a therapist?

Choosing a therapist can feel confusing or overwhelming. You may be trying to find someone who understands what you’re going through and who can help things feel different. It’s also important to know whether you feel safe enough to talk about experiences that may feel uncomfortable or exposing.

The free intro call gives you space to explore this without committing to a full therapy session.

During the call, you can ask questions about me, how I work, and how Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) might help in your situation. I’ll also ask a little about what’s been going on for you so I can think about whether I’m the right therapist to support you.

I’ll give you a brief overview of CBT and EMDR, so you have a clearer idea of what therapy sessions might look like and how either approach could benefit you.

There’s no pressure or obligation to continue with therapy after the intro call.

How do I book a free intro call?

I aim to offer intro calls within a week or two of you getting in touch. I know that when you reach out for support, you’re often keen to get started.

What happens after the intro call?

If we both feel that CBT or EMDR therapy with me would be helpful, I’ll aim to book your first full therapy session as soon as possible. Availability may vary if you need specific days or times - see my FAQ for information on my availability.

If I’m not the right fit, we won’t book a full session. Where possible, I’ll suggest alternative options or types of support that may be more helpful for you.
